PHOTO OF THE DAY: Demolished! ASPS structure now rubble

Demolition works at the Althea Scatliffe Primary School in Road Town have been in full swing for the last few days and the structure has, effectively, been levelled.
In this BVI News photo captured recently, most of what remains are rubble and debris.

The government confirmed in December that the school would be demolished after the institution was shuttered abruptly back in June of last year.

The closure came in the wake of a structural analysis of the school that found that the building was unsafe for occupancy due to issues of structural integrity. Students of the school were later dispersed among various other school campuses across Tortola.

Premier Wheatley previously said the issue of rebuilding the school is a priority for the government.
