From the vantage point of an area overlooking the Road Town capital, two cruise vessels can be seen docked at the cruise pier on Tortola.
Celebrity Edge and Marella Discovery of the Celebrity and Royal Caribbean cruise lines, respectively, arrived in the territory Wednesday morning, November 10.
According to the BVI Ports Authority’s (BVIPA) cruise schedule, the combined number of passengers that arrived from these two cruise calls is well in excess of 5,000.
Celebrity Edge is recorded to have carried 3,200 guests while Marella brought 2,074 guests.
Premier Andrew
Fahie previously said such cruise activity is “good news for our taxi and tour operators, food vendors, souvenir and handicraft vendors, restaurants, businesses at the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park, and for our economy as a whole”.
