Police discovers spent shells in vicinity of HM Prison
Information coming into our news centre, is that police acting on an anonymous report have discovered a large quantity of spent shells in the vicinity of the HM Prison, in Balsam Ghut Tortola.
A police source told Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) that upon investigation on January 1, 2021, they discovered some 60 spent shells on the road a short distance from the HM Prison main gate.
Most of the spent shells were in the middle of the road and a few on the roadside in the bushes.
Sources said the shells are from various semi-automatic firearms, however, it remains unclear under what circumstances the firearms were used.
Both CID and SOCO were on scene to investigate the discovery.
