Police investigating 1am shooting in Fort Hill | Spent shells recovered
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is investigating a shooting that happened on Tortola during the early-morning hours of Thursday, May 27.
The RVIPF’s Information Unit told our news centre that police received reports of a shooting in Fort Hill around 1:30 am.
After responding to the report, an unspecified number of “spent shells were recovered at the scene”.
“No injuries were reported,” the police told our news centre.
This incident is one of multiple shootings reported in the territory in recent times. Sixty-seven-year-old Catherine Pickering is a victim of one of those shootings; having been killed from gunshot wounds to the head and chest last month.
Like another victim Earl ‘Bob’ Hodge who was shot and killed two months earlier, the police are treating Pickering’s death as a murder.
