Investigators of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) are said to be probing an alleged attempt of rape on a teenaged girl by a man whom she had regarded as a ‘friend’ for over a year.
According to reports reaching our newsroom, the 17-year-old girl and the male companion had spent the day “hanging” at one of the beaches on Tortola on Sunday, October 4, 2020.
Things allegedly took a twist; however, when the male- under the pretext he had to uplift something- reportedly took the teen to an area they had visited earlier in the day.
According to reports, the teen had messaged her boyfriend to meet her at the location and was about to exit her male companion’s vehicle when he allegedly tried to force herself on her.
The teen allegedly put up a struggle but the accused managed to pull her pants down. She; however, was able to fight the male off and make her escape.
It’s alleged that about the same time her boyfriend arrived and she ran to him.
The teen allegedly related the incident to her boyfriend and her mother and a report was subsequently made to the police.
