Police launch probe into shooting in East End

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has launched an investigation into a shooting incident that happened on the eastern end of Tortola on Monday, December 12.
The police said the incident happened in Major Bay during afternoon hours.

Law enforcers did not specify the circumstances of the shooting. The RVIPF also did not say whether anyone was injured or apprehended in connection to the incident.

However, images circulating in the local social media space suggest that a man was shot during the incident. He appeared to be lying unresponsive at the scene of the shooting and is now feared dead.

“Investigations into the incident are active and ongoing therefore no other information is available at this time,” the police said in its brief statement moments ago.

BVI News will provide more information as it becomes available.
