Police sergeant arrested for questionable testimony in court
Information reaching BVI News is that an officer attached to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has been arrested on suspicion of perjuring himself.
The officer is said to be a sergeant in the RVIPF.
BVI News has not yet verified his identity but our news centre understands that he gave inconsistent evidence when he was called to testify before the High Court recently.
The court case in which he gave evidence reportedly involves interdicted police officers Pamphill Prevost and Simon Power.
In the meantime, highly-placed sources say he has not yet been charged but could be indicted for attempting to pervert the course of justice.
BVI News will provide more on this developing story as information becomes available.
