Premier calls for prayers for family of slain Kemo A. Lettsome

Virgin Islands (VI) Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley has called for prayers for the family of slain Kemo A. Lettsome who was murdered last evening, April 30, 2023, in the Long Look community.

The Premier was at the time delivering remarks at a special Church Service and Declaration at the Road Town Methodist Church to mark the start of Senior Citizen’s Month.

“Last night we had a murder in the Long Look Community, which is very sad. I firstly want to acknowledge Mr Alcedo Lettsome who’s here… because it was his son who was murdered unfortunately."

“And I am going to ask for you to pray for Mr Lettsome as well as his mother Vanessa Smith and the members of the family and the Long Look Community," he added.

Reports are that Kemo A. Lettsome was shot multiple times while in the vicinity of The Stickit around 6:30 PM on April 30, 2023.

Reports are that Lettsome was shot multiple times while in the vicinity of The Stickit around 6:30 PM.

Officials at the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force have confirmed the killing.

“Police can confirm the fatal wounding of a male following a shooting near the Stickette in Long Look this evening,” officials told the press early last evening.

It remains unclear who the assailant was or how many persons were involved in the shooting.
