Premier cleared to exit isolation after testing negative for COVID

Premier Andrew Fahie is now out of COVID-19 isolation and has returned to conducting his duties as the leader of government business in a physical capacity.
Fahie and several others went into isolation after being possibly exposed to a COVID-19 patient when he attended a funeral at the Sea Cows Bay Methodist Church on March 27.

Following 10 days of isolation, the Premier subjected himself to a COVID-19 test and shared his results with the public.

“I am happy to report that I have been cleared from isolation as my covid result came back negative. To God be the glory,” the Premier said in a recent social media post.

“I am truly happy to be back in Office and Cabinet working physically, and not remotely, for the people of the Virgin Islands. I will continue to do my part, making the best decisions in the best interest of our beautiful Virgin Islands,” he added.

The Premier, in the meantime, issued a public reminder for residents to “remain vigilant and to continue to observe all the COVID-19 protocols”.

At the last known count, the number of active COVID-19 cases in the territory was 18.
