Prince of Wales Resumes Duties After Wife's Cancer Diagnosis: Kate's Recovery and Royal Absence

The Prince of Wales, 73, will return to royal duties on Thursday, three-and-a-half weeks after his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, 41, revealed her cancer diagnosis and underwent chemotherapy.
He will visit a food redistribution charity in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey, and a youth center in west London.

Catherine's cancer was discovered in post-operative tests following her abdominal surgery in January.

The princess, Catherine, had planned to return to royal duties after Easter, but before that, she had not attended any official events due to health issues and speculation about her whereabouts.

In a video message on March 23, she thanked the public for their support and shared that it had been a difficult couple of months for her family.

She revealed that she had undergone major abdominal surgery in London in January, and although it was initially believed that her condition was non-cancerous, tests after the surgery discovered that she had cancer.

The text mentions that the unnamed woman, who is likely Prince William's wife, Kate Middleton, expressed that having her husband by her side has provided her with comfort during a difficult time.

Prince William has reduced his official appearances since her statement, with his last duty being a visit to housing initiatives in Sheffield in March.

He was recently seen in public with his eldest son, Prince George, at an Aston Villa football match.
