Prison officer stabbed in face by inmate @ HMP
A prison officer is reportedly nursing a wound inflicted to his face by an inmate of Her Majesty's Prison (HMP) at Balsam Ghut, Tortola on August 25, 2022.
According to reports, the prisoner was being escorted when he struck the officer in the face with a sharp object.
The weapon was reportedly subsequently retrieved following a search of the inmate.
The prison officer required treatment at Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.
It is unclear if the prisoner has since been charged by police, as efforts to get a comment from HMP boss Guy M. Hill were unsuccessful.
