Pumpkin Jailed For Child Porn

High court judge Richard Floyd sentenced Nelson ‘Pumpkin’ Callwood to a total of 16 years for Possession of Child Porn and Publication.
Justice Floyd handed down the sentence today, July 7, after a nine-member jury found him guilty on April 26 on the two criminal offences after a week-long trial.

However, the court heard that the sentences are to run concurrently, which means that Callwood would spend no more than 8 years in total at Her Majesty’s Prison in Balsam Ghut.

According to the facts of the case, which stemmed from 2013, Callwood, allegedly threatened to murder the family of an underage girl if she did not send him nude photographs.

Callwood reportedly met the minor virtually when she joined a social media site after she received an iPad in October 2013.
During their online conversations, Callwood reportedly instructed her to send him photos of her private parts and threatened to kill her family if she did not comply.

The minor reportedly complied by sending the requested photos to Callwood, and he then shared the nude photos with an acquaintance.

When the said acquaintance received the photos, he reported the matter to the Social Development Department and the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force and Callwood was eventually charged with the aforesaid offences.

Crown Counsel Kael London represented the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution while Attorney Ruthilia Maximea represented the defendant.
On April 24, 2017, Callwood was charged with buggery and indecent assault of an adult and was sentenced to 13 years for the offences.
