RDA Awards First Contract To Female-Owned Company

Karen Vanterpool, of Attention to Detail (ATD) Construction, has been awarded the contract to repair a damaged home on Virgin Gorda.
Ms. Vanterpool is the first female construction company owner to ink a contract with the Recovery Development Agency (RDA). The signing occurred on Friday, 8th November for a contract valued at $130,677.71.

Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon. Carvin Malone and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour & Ninth District Representative Hon. Vincent Wheatley were present.

Accoridng to the RDA, the scope of works for the project include the demolition and removal of the existing damaged roof, windows and doors. The works also include the re-installation of a new timber roof, windows, doors, fixtures and fittings in addition to plumbing, masonry and electrical works.

Attention to Detail Construction emerged successful from a pool of six local companies who submitted tenders for this project through the RDA’s National (Domestic) Competitive Bidding Procurement Method.

Works will commence on site this week and are set to be completed in January.
