The Fourth Sitting of the Fourth Session of the Fourth House of Assembly of the Virgin Islands will begin today, June 30, 2022, at Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duff’s Bottom, Tortola.

The lone bill on the Order Paper released to the media this morning is the Register of Interests Act, 2022, which will have its Introduction and is then scheduled to receive First, Second and Third Readings.

Bill is to 'hold politicians accountable'- Premier

Premier Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) has said the Register of Interests Act is to hold local politicians accountable.

“Among other things, the legislation will make our declarations public. We are also including strong punitive measures for anyone who fails to declare their interests on time or not at all. Change is needed across the board, but it must start with us,” Dr Wheatley had declared in a statement on May 24, 2022.

A number of Reports are also slated to be laid in the HoA today.

The HoA sitting is scheduled to start at 10:00am.

The sitting is expected to be aired LIVE on House of Assembly VI Youtube; House of Assembly of the Virgin Islands Facebook; 780 AM ZBVI Radio; CBN-Radio (90.9 FM); FLOW TV Channel 101; and CCT TV Channel 291.
