On January 20, 2025, Donald J. Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, marking the start of his second term.

The inauguration witnessed an extraordinary assembly of foreign leaders, former officials, and international dignitaries in Washington, D.C., underscoring the global attention the event attracted.

Notable Attendees
Prominent figures in attendance included Argentina’s President Javier Milei, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa attended a prayer service at St. John’s Episcopal Church alongside President Trump.

Representing her nation, Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili highlighted the strong ties between Georgia and the United States.

She commented on social media about the lasting friendship between the two nations.

Although Paraguayan President Santiago Peña was invited and had aimed to boost U.S. investment, he encountered logistical issues preventing him from accessing the rotunda during the indoor ceremony.

Paraguay later attributed the problem to a communication breakdown regarding changes in the inauguration arrangements.

Global Reactions
Many world leaders who were unable to attend sent messages of congratulations and support.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope for President Trump’s leadership, stressing the importance of unity among democracies.

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte emphasized shared defense priorities, expressing confidence in stronger military cooperation under Trump’s leadership.

The inauguration coincided with the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, limiting the attendance of additional foreign dignitaries.

Nonetheless, leaders worldwide recognized the historic significance of Trump returning to the White House against considerable odds.

Trump’s Inaugural Message
In his inaugural speech, President Trump outlined his vision for rejuvenating America’s strength, stressing his "America First" approach.

While reaffirming his commitment to national revitalization, Trump acknowledged the global challenges faced by democracies and underscored the importance of international collaboration.

This inauguration marked a distinctive moment in U.S. history, not only for Trump’s return to office but also for the high level of international involvement.
