Rotary club of TORTOLA wins MOURANT HLSCC college classics special

The Rotary Club of Tortola claimed their 15th consecutive win during the Mourant HLSCC College Classics Special Edition Series.
The win took place this past Saturday, October 31st at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College, Paraquita Bay campus during the 25th Anniversary Special Edition race slated especially for service clubs.

Race Director, Mrs. Stephanie Russ Penn said that with a field of four teams and thirty four participants, “The Battle of the Service Clubs” was as excited as anticipated.

The Rotary Club of Tortola was joined by team Rotaract, who placed second, Team Rotary of Road Town who placed third and Rotary Sunrise of Road Town.

In excellent fashion, Mark Stephenson of Rotary of Tortola and Tuneisha Johnson of Rotaract were the first male and female participants respectively, to cross the finish line.

The finale of the Virgin Gorda leg of the series will be held on Saturday, November 7th at the College’s Virgin Gorda Centre. This finale will be celebrated as the Race Series’ 25th Anniversary race. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. and the race starts at 7:00 a.m. All are invited to participate.

The final race at the Paraquita Bay campus is scheduled for Saturday, November 14th and will showcase for the first time in the Series history – relay teams. Teams of three (3) persons can register to participate.

The College continues to partner with the law firm Mourant as the main sponsor of the series, which is a green event.
