The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has announced that evidence was lifted from the boat involved in Wednesday's drug bust prior to it being destroyed in a fire.
Despite efforts by criminal elements to disrupt the investigation, the police have completed necessary examinations and no relevant evidence was destroyed in the fire.
The RVIPF is currently investigating the significant cocaine seizure and the firearm, boat, and ammunition detained during the operation.
In the early hours of today, one of the seized vessels was set ablaze in an attempt to destroy evidence.
However, the RVIPF had already completed all necessary examinations and no relevant evidence was destroyed.
The police force is grateful for the support and cooperation of law-abiding members of the community and is determined to bring offenders to justice.
Investigators are asking anyone with useful information to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339 or anonymously through the Crimestoppers hotline number 8008477.
The RVIPF is committed to keeping
the Virgin Islands safe and protecting the community from criminal elements.
The police force will not be deterred by those who hope to escape detection and prosecution, and will continue to pursue several lines of inquiry in this dynamic investigation.
