Far-Right National Rally Dominates France's EU Vote

The far-right National Rally swept France's European Parliament elections, winning in 93 percent of voting districts. The party saw significant gains, especially in struggling towns and rural areas, while President Macron's alliance and the Greens party suffered losses. In Paris, Socialist-backed Raphael Glucksmann led with 22.9 percent of the vote.
The far-right National Rally, led by Marine Le Pen and party chief Jordan Bardella, swept France's European Parliament elections, winning in 93 percent of voting districts.

The party saw a substantial increase from 71 percent in 2019 to 31.36 percent nationwide.

It excelled in struggling towns like Bruay-la-Buissière and Henin-Beaumont in Pas-de-Calais, as well as rural departments like Lot-et-Garonne.

Significant votes were also observed in regions like Brittany and cities like Toulon.

The results marked a considerable loss for President Macron's alliance, which dropped to 14.6 percent, and the Greens party, which also suffered significant losses.

In contrast, the left-wing Socialist-backed Raphael Glucksmann led in Paris with 22.9 percent.

Far-left France Unbowed dominated in Saint-Seine-Denis, adding to the RN's sweeping success.
