Scooter rider rushed to surgery after collision with pickup truck

A Long Bay Caucasian male, had to be rushed to the Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital and prepared for surgery, after his scooter collided with a Kia pickup truck on the Sir Francis Drake Highway at Duff's Bottom, Tortola, in the vicinity of the old car wash.
A police source told VINO the incident occurred around after 8:30 pm on December 31, 2020, and after the accident, the rider of the scooter was allegedly observed to be combative and intoxicated when police arrived on the scene.

Reports state that the Caucasian male sustained fractures to his right arm, broken fingers and multiple abrasions to his body with lacerations to his hand and nose and had to be rushed to surgery.

Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck said he tried to avoid the collision; however, the motorcycle came from the opposite direction and still slammed into the vehicle.

It remains unclear the current condition of the rider, however, the driver of the pickup truck received a notice of intended prosecution as a result of the accident.
