Search underway for missing snorkeler visiting BVI
A search is currently underway for a Canadian visitor who went missing yesterday morning while snorkelling in BVI waters.
According to information from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), the male visitor joined a charter with four other visitors, unknown to him at the time, which left Scrub Island for Cooper Island early Monday.
“All five charter guests entered the water off Cooper Island. The missing male snorkeler did not return to the boat,” the RVIPF said.
The Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR) team and Customs officers are currently assisting the marine police to locate the man.
Investigations are ongoing, the police said.
