Second Extension For Stimulus Beneficiaries

Second Extension For Stimulus Beneficiaries

The Government has granted another extension for the deadline for the completion of the mandatory COVID-19 Stimulus Feedback form to Sunday, October 17.
This is the second extension. Last month an extension was issued to August 31.

Permanent Secretary of the Premier’s Office, Dr. Carolyn O’Neal-Morton explained that the extension of the deadline is necessary to ensure that the Government can properly assess the impact of the COVID-19 Stimulus in the Virgin Islands.

“Without the data gathered from the feedback form, the Government cannot properly evaluate and monitor how the COVID-19 Economic Stimulus has affected persons, businesses and the local economy,” PS O’Neal-Morton said, adding, “It is imperative that we receive feedback to adequately respond to the needs of those participating in our economy.”

Following the first extension, Premier and Minister for Finance Hon. Andrew Fahie told BVI Platinum News that beneficiaries of the government-issued stimulus are willing to be accountable, and hence, requested an extension to be able to submit their report on the impact the said funds had on their respective businesses.

At the time, when asked for the number of persons who complied with the initial timeframe and the number of persons who did not, he said that information was not readily available.

However, he said: “I have been informed that many persons have been complying with the request for information which shows our people’s willingness to be accountable.”

Persons and businesses that received the COVID-19 Economic Stimulus for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises including daycares, pre-schools, private schools; churches; religious organisations; farmers, and fisherfolks are asked to complete the COVID-19 Stimulus Feedback form to assist the Government with completing its Economic Stimulus Grant Report to ascertain and confirm the impact of the support on the respective ventures.

Dr. O’Neal-Morton further noted that all recipients of the stimulus have a responsibility to provide feedback. “We thank those persons who have already completed the feedback forms. Indeed, the information received will help to advise on how the stimulus received has impacted our community during a critical time of need,” she said.

The forms for the respective stimulus grant categories are located on the Government of the Virgin Islands’ website, http://eservices.gov.vg/feedback/. The forms can be submitted electronically by clicking the submit button. Additionally, persons can download the fillable forms and email to premieroffice@gov.vg.

For assistance with completing the form please contact the Premier's Office at 468-2152.
