Selkridge stars as BVIEC Shockers fight off ‘spirited’ SDA in Industrial Volleyball League

Action in the Industrial Volleyball League organised by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports (DYAS) heated up at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex on October 6, 2022.

Both games were taken to a third and deciding set, with Moorings Sea Rangers and BVIEC Shockers coming out victorious in the end.

Walkers Justice denied by Moorings Sea Rangers


In Game 1, Moorings Sea Rangers overcame Walkers Justice 21-15 in the opening set. Walkers Justice, with the likes of experienced player Akeem Robinson, then fought back to take the second set 21-14.

Walkers Justice; however, seemed to run out of steam in the deciding set as they lost 6-15.

BVIEC Shockers fight off SDA


In Game 2, BVIEC Shockers, with the likes of former professional player Danielle Selkridge, saw off a spirited challenge by SDA Family Life aka ‘Family Matters’.

BVIEC, thanks to some powerful spiking by Selkridge, bagged the first set 21-15.

SDA Family Life; however, come back on the court looking a totally different unit, easily winning the second set 21-12.

With the crowd now into the game, SDA went ahead in the final set but BVIEC Shockers rallied to level the score at 11-11.

Selkridge then had a strong hand in seeing BVIEC Shockers to victory, 15-11.

Play today, October 11, 2022, brings together It Sets on the Beach and One Mart from 6:30pm.

Game On and ESHS Rams will then do battle from 7:30pm.


BVIEC Shockers, boasting the likes of former professional player Danielle Selkridge, saw off a spirited challenge by SDA Family Life aka ‘Family Matters’.

Walkers Justice pushed their opponents Moorings Sea Rangers to a deciding set but failed to close them out.
