'Sexual Fantasy' Assignment At US School Outrages Parents
Parents are outraged at a teacher's assignment for school kids to compose a "sexual fantasy" short story in Oregon.
The parents of students attending Churchill High School in Oregon are up in arms, and rightfully so, about an incredibly inappropriate and downright disturbing assignment given to their children.
The assignment required students in a health class to write a sexual fantasy story using items such as feathers, massage oil, and flavoring syrup, among other things.
To make matters worse, the syllabus approved by the school district explicitly instructed students to include sex toys in their stories.
The assignment stated that the stories should be a paragraph or two in length, and while they should contain no penetration or oral sex, they were still required to be sexually explicit.
As you can imagine, parents were absolutely outraged when they found out about this assignment.
Within an hour of it being posted on social media, hundreds of comments were left by furious parents and internet users.
One parent, Katherine Rogers, spoke out against the assignment, condemning the teacher who assigned it and expressing her disgust with the school district for approving such a project.
She explained that many students in the class felt mortified, awkward, and creeped out by the assignment.
It's incredibly concerning that a school district would approve such a blatantly inappropriate and potentially harmful assignment.
The fact that it was given to high school students only makes it worse.
Let's hope this incident serves as a wake-up call for the district to better screen and review the materials they approve for classroom use.
