Shooting attempt reportedly foiled following gun malfunction

Reports reaching Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) is that sometime on Thursday, March 23, 2023, a shooting attempt was foiled in the Huntum's Ghut area after the gun of the shooter reportedly malfunctioned at the scene.
According to sources, a masked gunman reportedly arrived on a motorcycle at a crowded basketball court and attempted to open fire.

It remains unclear who was the target, however, persons described the gun as ‘long’ and on seeing the weapon, eyewitnesses said those in the vicinity began running for their lives.

Our news center understands that the gun reportedly malfunctioned when the shooter attempted to open fire and following the indecent, the rider reportedly fled the scene on the motorcycle.

Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) reached out to officials at the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) on whether they received reports of the incident or actively investigating it, however, no response was received up to publication time.
