Siblings questioned over marijuana found in air freshener can

At least two persons were questioned by police in relation to a quantity of marijuana reportedly found in an air freshener can that arrived in the Territory on a ferry on August 16, 2020.
According to reports reaching our newsroom, officers of Her Majesty’s Customs had searched a sealed package when the illegal substance was discovered.

It is alleged that when the package was being cleared at the Road Town Ferry dock there was a strong scent observed. This caused law enforcement authorities to become suspicious.

Officers awaited the arrival of a female to whom the package was addressed to and she was taken into custody and questioned.

It is alleged that she told police the can was sent for her brother and she was not aware of the content. Her brother was also questioned and he too reportedly denied knowledge.

Police are still investigating.
