Skillful Ballers win nail-biting thriller to lift youth basketball title on STT

The BVI Basketball Federation’s (BVIBF) 2021 District League Champions of the Junior Division, Jr Skillful Ballers have added the Back to Basketball Easter Tournament 2022 in the US Virgin Islands (USVI) to their collection of titles.

The [British] Virgin Islands boys eked out a victory by the narrowest of margins against Hustlers in the 16-18 Division at Ivanna Eudora Kean High School Gymnasium on St Thomas to emerge champions on April 17, 2022.

Thrilling finish


With .5 remaining on the shot clock and the scores even at 78-78, Lekoy Lennard was sent to the free throw line. He scored the first shot and missed the second shot attempt, but the one point was enough to hand the visitors victory.

Skillful Ballers were coached by Ronald Simmons aka ‘Gola’.

The Back to Basketball Easter Tournament was hosted by Zero Tolerance Basketball Organisation Incorporated and sponsored by Governor Albert A. Bryan Jr.

The tournament attracted teams from St Thomas, St Croix and the [British] Virgin Islands.
