Smith spreads good will with ham and turkey donations in D1

Territorial At-Large Representative Neville ‘Sheep’ Smith has sought to spread good will this Christmas by distributing boxes of turkey and ham primarily to elderly persons in the First Electoral District.
“I’m going to do the same thing I did last Christmas. Even though government has no funds, I don’t see any reason why me as a politician or somebody who represents can’t still give back to the community,” said Smith who was speaking on ZBVI Radio this week.

Smith has been serving as the de facto representative for the First District since the constituency lost their elected representative, former Premier Andrew Fahie who is awaiting trial in the United States for drug-related charges.

Smith said he decided to focus donations in the First District because constituents have been “without representation” for some time.

“I’m still doing my At-Large duties but it just that I’m focusing a little more on them for the while,” Smith explained. “If I pass along and see somebody in need, I’ll give.”

The donations are being distributed through the district office.
