Stucco Wall Treatments That Afford Multiple Decor Styles

Stucco wall treatments make textured backdrops that afford a multitude of decor styles. Their subtle inclusion provides a canvas that complements a plethora of accompanying materials, colours and furniture design, without any clash or overwhelm. These four inspirational home designs demonstrate how to use concrete stucco in modern settings for the family, young professionals, and the sophisticated homeowner.

Home design number one features a water-patterned concrete living room with a cohesive play space for the little ones. Design two is where industrial concrete meets cool Scandi style. Home three dips into the realm of colour, and design number four features a smooth surrender of microcement in a refined, spacious abode.



This high-rise home is located in Xiaogang, Anhui Province, China. As you approach the apartment on the third floor of the building, a prominent red door comes into sight. On the other side of it, an industrial style open plan space is encased in water-patterned concrete that makes a laconic backdrop for floating living zones.



A short, concrete room divider privately screens the front doorway from the directly adjacent lounge area. An entryway shoe bench is hidden behind it, whilst a small sideboard decorates the front face.



Behind the sofa, A set of sleek black wood grain doors slide closed to neatly cover up a child’s play area when not in use.



A small side table brings a moment of warm natural wood tone to the cool concrete decor scheme, which coordinates with a wood sofa frame and matching coffee table.



Mature indoor plants and tiny cactuses dot greenery around the moody grey interior.



With the sliding doors drawn back, the combined lounge space and play area form one large, connected family room.



A split level floor defines the main lounge from the kids’ play room. Concrete stucco continues around the perimeter of the kids’ space to form one cohesive decor scheme with the main lounge.



Monochrome kids’ furniture and decor accessories fashion a play space that is not unduly jarring on the eye.



At the opposite end of the living room, there is a modern dining room. Wooden Wegner style Wishbone Chairs are teamed up with a grey stone topped dining table.



A built-in bookcase provides a decorative moment of warm wood tone between the lounge and dining areas.



A linear suspension light spreads even illumination along the full length of the modern dining table.



Fluted glass doors separate the dining room from the neighbouring kitchen.



The textured glass doors slide back fully to merge the kitchen and dining room into one fluid space.



White subway tiles build a clean backsplash upon the concrete kitchen walls.



Black kitchen units provide stark contrast.



In the concrete bedroom design, a wooden platform bed warms the look. An indoor plant adds a tall plume of greenery at one edge of the bed, which balances out the height of a tripod floor lamp on the opposite side.



A full length mirror lays a slice of natural light against the dark grey concrete wall of the dressing room.



Wood effect tiles create a contrasting cosy vibe inside of the bathroom. A small bathroom mirror allows for a greater area of the tile to be enjoyed in the compact space.



This Penthouse in Moscow utilises a slightly smoother and lighter concrete stucco to fashion a brighter and airy feeling interior.



The lighter backdrop makes a pleasant companion for Scandinavian style decor accessories and furniture pieces, like this stylish Scandinavian style chair.



A unique shelving unit climbs the space between the lounge and the entryway to define the two separate areas. Wood wall panelling further differentiates the change in function.



The grey striped living room rug creates a soft island for a modern tufted sofa and a round coffee table.



A modern ceiling fan cools the open plan space.



Two large dining room pendant lights drop bold black accents above the table, which coordinate with two modern black dining chairs.



The opposite side of the dining suite is lightened up with white and wood Scandi style dining chairs.



Floating bookcases add light adornment to the textured concrete wall.



This 76 square metre home is located in Odessa, Ukraine. A small sofa adds a rich green accent into calm, warm grey microcement surroundings.



An indoor plant coordinates with the sofa colourway.



At the side of the TV wall, a small dining table is tucked away next to an alcove of built-in shelving for decorative items.



The galley kitchen features metallic base units that reflect the light and the shades of the living room.



Inside the bedroom, a contrasting colour scheme of deep umber saturates the walls.



Mother-of-pearl shimmers, swirls and pools across a vintage golden screen. Voluminous, tiered bedroom pendant lights echo the rounded motif.



Modern wall sconces draw attention to two unusual hexagonal bedside tables.



A copper coloured finish clads the walls of the bathroom and the side of the tub.



A clerestory window fetches natural light into the room above a double sink bathroom vanity.



Finally, our fourth home design is a sophisticated abode set in smooth microcement. A plush sectional sofa makes a welcoming landing spot in the living room, along with a coordinating lounge chair. A glass coffee table reflects light from huge living room windows.



The pale cream upholstered furniture arrangement is warmly accented with a contrasting wicker chair.



The honey toned wicker chair ties in with natural wood flooring that floods through the entire living space.



In the formal dining area, a combination of wooden dining chairs and mint green counterparts construct a fresh look. The linear dining room chandelier straddles modern and classic aesthetics to fashion enduring charm.
