A major UK study has found that disturbed sleep patterns in patients hospitalized with
COVID-19 may contribute to persistent breathlessness, a common symptom of long
COVID.
The research, conducted across 38 institutions and led by the Universities of Leicester and Manchester, suggests that poor sleep quality could be a driver of ongoing respiratory issues in recovering patients.
The findings highlight the importance of addressing sleep disturbances in the treatment and recovery plans for long
COVID sufferers.
