Summer Sizzle BVI 2022 announces line-up of events; Hollywood host

Summer Sizzle BVI 2022 has announced its Schedule of Events for a fun-filled week of Fashion, Music, Art and Culture starting July 21 – 24, 2022, in the [British] Virgin Islands.

Organizers said that after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the highly anticipated event is attracting a high number of visitors beginning June 20, 2022, with many guests who plan an extended stay in the VI.

Huge attendance expected


“The event attracts fashion and travel influencers, press, celebrities, entertainers, leisure visitors and water sports enthusiasts. With this beautiful tropical venue serving as a backdrop, they all come eager to experience this spectacular event,” fashion model guru and promoter of the annual Summer Sizzle BVI Mr Terry T. Donovan stated.

Donovan said this year’s Global Glamour Runway Show will be hosted by Joel Steingold, a "lover of BVI" who can currently be seen as Marcus St John on Showtime Series “The Chi” and in the upcoming Disney Plus Series “The Crossover”.

“He has also appeared in roles on “How to Get Away with Murder” Shameless, Hawaii 5 -0 and The Muppets. Joel, a native of Detroit, Los Angeles-based actor was the first host of the event when it debuted in 2009,” a release on the initiative noted.

List of events


The events will being on Thursday, July 21, 2022, with a “Welcome culture & style party - a taste of the BVI” at Loose Mongoose, Beef Island from 8:00 pm.

The Welcome Culture and Style Party is an introductory mix and mingle event focused on celebrating the rich culture and cuisine of the [British] Virgin Islands.

Then on Friday, July 22, 2022, will see the “Flora & fauna style party” taking place at the Long Bay Beach Resort, Tortola, in the Virgin Islands from 8:00 PM

At the Flora and Fauna Style Party, guests will party under the stars in bold, exotic floral and animal prints while mixing and mingling with celebrities, supermodels, designers, and fashionistas.

On Saturday, June 23, 2022, the major 2021 Summer Sizzle BVI “Global Glamour” Runway Show will go down at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex, Road Town, Tortola with a cocktail reception at 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM ahead of the show which is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM.

Runway show set for June 23, 2022


The runway show is dubbed the Caribbean’s biggest night in fashion - Join us for a spectacular evening celebrating fashion where for one night, the VI is transformed into the Fashion Capital of the world featuring top emerging designers to world-renowned superstars.

The designer line-up includes Hollywood top designer Sergio Hudson, Coral Castillo, Project Runway Star from Season 19, Sai Sankoh, Carlton Jones, Edwing D’Angelo, Jaer Caban, Don Murphy, Khangle VN, Yumi Katsura, Andrew Nowell, Cesar Galindo, Koki Love, The Islander Swim Collection, Aqua Couture by Roger Gary and ARK Capsule Collection, a Fashion and Art collaboration by BVI designer Kristin Frazer of Trefle Designs who joined forces with internationally collected Abstract Artist Roma Harrigan-Osowo and rising BVI creative Alexia Penn.

The show will also feature a children’s show, produced by Khaliah Clark, Award-Winning Fashion Stylist in partnership with Sunni Dai Kids Fashion Week known for their Kids Show in LA, NYC and Miami.

Then on Sunday, July 24, 2022, the events will close with a Yacht and Beach BBQ Party on the deck of a privately chartered yacht sailing to Virgin Gorda, one of the VI’s most picturesque and breathtaking islands.

“Aboard the yacht in your sizzling hot swimwear to set sail for a dreamy escape. Once we arrive, enjoy your day swimming and snorkelling in the water or soaking in the sun on the sand. BBQ Lunch included,” the release noted.
