T20 Cricket: Sewkarran hits unbeaten 80 as Cavaliers down RTW Falcons

Cricketing powerhouse Cavaliers stamped their authority early in the BVI Cricket Association (BVICA) 2023 T20 Tournament, which bowled off at Greenland Playfield on Sunday, February 5, 2023.

The Cavaliers, led by an unbeaten half-century from Man of the Match Avishkar Sewkarran, defeated RTW Falcons by 9 wickets in the lone game of the day.

Sewkarran ended on 80 not out as Cavaliers achieved victory on 135-1 from 9.5 overs, responding to RTW Falcons’ 131 all out from 16.1 overs.

Opening batsman Sewkarran faced 37 balls and hit 13 fours and 3 sixes in his stellar performance at the crease. He had also picked up a wicket when RTW Falcons were sent to bat first.

Gopaul Boodram was not out on 20. He came to the crease after opener Aaron Baker was bowled by Imran Smith when on 23.

The Falcons' innings were pegged back especially by Ronniel Jeffrey who took 4 wickets for 20 runs from his allotted 4 overs.

Austin Mc Dowall top-scored for RTW Falcons with 24 runs. Sylvester Mitchel (23 runs) and Joel Williams (20) also had good starts but we were unable to hang in at the crease for a longer time.

Opening batsman Avishkar Sewkarran faced 37 balls and hit 13 fours and 3 sixes for his unbeaten 80, which earned him Man of the Match honours.
