‘The whole curfew needs to be lifted off' VI - Skelton-Cline

Talk show host Claude O. Skelton-Cline has called on the Fahie administration to end the national COVID-19 curfew for good, since he believes the curfew is having adverse economic impacts on the territory.

“Where is the Treasury going to keep getting money from if we have all this stop and go… open, close?’ the talk show host asked on the Tuesday, September 21, 2021, edition of his Honestly Speaking show.

Despite the government adjusting the curfew to run from 1:00 AM-5:00 AM, Skelton-Cine called for its complete removal for economic reasons.

“If there are establishments legal and or illegal in this country that is becoming, that continues to be a problem to you then put a curfew on those establishments,” he said.

“But stop punishing the entire country and suffocating your economic stimulus opportunity by having this curfew on all of us,” he said.

He called on citizens to remain vigilant and take steps to protect themselves and their livelihood as a relates to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the VI, local health authorities have continued to push vaccination as the key factor to fight the pandemic and mitigate the spread of the virus.

Persons are also expected to follow the local public health policies, including the wearing of masks, social distancing and hand sanitisation.
