A highly placed source informed BVI News that the three escapees were being held at a hotel in a room together at the time of their escape on June 23.

The men reportedly gained access to a window and made their escape in nearby bushes. BVI News was informed that at least four security officers were on duty.

Police officers conducted searches around the compound and surrounding area, but the detainees were not located.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force is still investigating the matter.

Local law enforcement authorities have a continuing history of having detainees escape on their watch.
