Tragedy averted after two men rescued from capsized boat

Tragedy was averted at around midnight, last evening, July 17, 2022, after survival skills took the best of two persons who happened to be traveling in a boat that turned turtle.
According to sources, the boat originally had three occupants, and the men were travelling from Norman Island to Nanny Cay in the pitch-black night when they encountered difficulties and the boat turned turtle.

Virgin Islands Search & Rescue (VISAR) has since indicated that a third man strapped to a floater was able to swim to ashore and raise an alarm prompting rescue efforts by VISAR and the Police Marine.

It was during rescue effort, that the other two men were discovered clinging to the vessel which according to sources made the rescue easier.
