TRC launches annual video competition

TRC launches annual video competition

The BVI Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) launches its annual video competition today, May 17, for residents to participate and vie for cash prizes.
The competition is being held under the theme “Accelerating Digital Transformation In Challenging Times”.

Chief Executive Officer at the TRC, Guy Malone said the launch of this year’s competition will enhance the TRC’s public education and awareness strategy.

“The video competition has garnered the interest of innovative and creative illustrations of the year’s theme over the years and that he was excited to see entries for this year’s competition,” Malone stated.

“The stories told through videos are engaging, educational and effect change in behaviour in the realm of telecommunications. I believe that the meaningful messages shared through video will highlight the importance of accelerating digital transformation in these challenging [times],” he added.

The competition is open to everyone under two categories — Youth (ages 12 to 18) and Adults (ages 19 years and above).

Each video entry must incorporate the theme and should be no longer than five minutes. Winners will receive cash prizes of $1,500 and $1,000 in the Youth and Adult categories, respectively.

Videos must be submitted to wtisd@trc.vg or admin_dept@trc.vg by the deadline, June 25.
