Trump Urges Strong Borders in the US, Citing Concerns Over Security Threats

Donald Trump secured a decisive win in the Iowa caucuses, claiming 20 out of 40 delegates with 56,250 votes—a significant lead of over 32,000.
Trump, reasserting his stance on border security, stated that a large number of people are entering the U.S. illegally, including terrorists. Calling for integrity in elections, he emphasized the need for a robust electoral process paired with stringent border control.

Speaking in Londonderry, New Hampshire, he voiced concerns over both the northern and southern U.S. borders, criticizing the current administration's handling of border affairs. He insinuated that the management of the situation might stem from incompetence or animosity toward the country.

As the New Hampshire primary commenced, Trump led the Republican field, contending against Nikki Haley for the nomination to oppose President Biden in the 2024 election.

In Iowa, Trump's closest rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, lagged with eight delegates, and Haley followed with seven. With DeSantis withdrawing, the race narrows.

A recent CNN poll places Trump in the lead with 50% support among likely Republican voters in New Hampshire, Haley trailing at 39%. His campaign, starting in November 2022, focuses on redoing federal agencies and taking tough stances on adversaries amidst legal challenges and denying the 2020 election results.

Conversely, Haley, launching her bid in February 2023, calls for new Republican leadership, emphasizing economic discipline and national security. A victory in the primaries could make her the GOP's first female and first Asian American presidential nominee.

Her political background includes terms in the South Carolina legislature and as the state's first female governor."
