Two charged for separate incidents involving minors

BVI News understands that the police recently arrested and charged two persons for their roles in separate incidents involving minors.
In the first incident, our news centre understands that a 16-year-old boy was charged for having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl.

It is unclear who reported the matter to the police and our news team hasn’t been able to ascertain whether the young man will appear in court to answer to the charge.

In the second incident, a woman from the Fat Hog’s Bay community was reportedly arrested and charged with cruelty to a child. Our news centre understands that the woman is around 30 years old.

The nature of the reported abuse is not clear and our news centre hasn’t been able to confirm whether the accused woman is the mother of the child.

In the meantime, it’s reported that the woman was granted bail and is set to appear in court at a later date.
