UK-US Relations Affirmed in Keir Starmer's Meeting with Joe Biden

UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer held his first in-person talks with US President Joe Biden at the White House. They reaffirmed their commitment to NATO and discussed extended support for Ukraine. Sir Keir announced continued UK military aid for Kyiv and gifted Biden a personalized Arsenal football shirt. Both celebrated NATO's unity and England's Euro 2024 football victory.
UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer held his first in-person talks with US President Joe Biden at the White House, highlighting the importance of the 'special relationship' between their nations and reaffirming their commitment to NATO.

The meeting took place during NATO's 75th anniversary summit in Washington, where both leaders underscored their alliance's strength and discussed extended support for Ukraine.

Sir Keir announced that the UK would continue its three billion pounds per year military aid for Kyiv.

The leaders celebrated NATO's unity and progress, with President Biden expressing optimism for the future.

Sir Keir marked his visit by gifting President Biden a personalized Arsenal football shirt with Biden's name and the number 46, symbolizing his status as the 46th US president.

The UK delegation, including Foreign Secretary David Lammy and Defence Secretary John Healey, engaged with their US counterparts to discuss security cooperation and the situation in Ukraine and Gaza.

Both leaders also celebrated England's football victory in Euro 2024, with Sir Keir planning to attend the final in Berlin.
