UPDATE: 3 charged in connection to VG armed robbery

Officers of Virgin Gorda Police Station have charged three of the four men arrested in connection with the armed robbery and a car chase in Valley, Virgin Gorda.

The Police in a media release said, “Charged are Tray Audain, 25, of no fixed place of abode, Rakeem Lennard, 28, of North Sound, and Lekhoy Hughes, 21, of no fixed place of abode.”

A fourth 15-year-old was discharged pending further investigation, however, the three charged will appear before the Magistrate’s Court at its next available sitting.

The four were arrested following a reported robbery outside a supermarket on Lee Road.


Quick response by ranks of the Virgin Gorda Police Station resulted in the apprehension of 4 persons who allegedly committed an armed robbery on a woman on Lee Road last night, October 15, 2020.

Robbers nabbed after car chase


The RVIPF said initial reports indicate that two masked males, both armed with firearms, approached two individuals outside the supermarket, snatched their handbags, ran to the back of the store and escaped in a vehicle.

Officers of the Virgin Gorda Police Station said they responded and apprehended three suspects including the driver of the vehicle near the North Sound Basketball Court. A fourth suspect fled the scene but was subsequently captured and arrested.

Police say investigations into the matter is still ongoing.

VG police nab armed robbers following high speed chase; 4 in custody

VALLEY, Virgin Gorda, VI- Four persons who allegedly robbed a woman of a significant amount of cash on Lee Road, Virgin Gorda, last night, October 15, 2020, are now in police custody.

According to reports, the armed robbery took place around 8:00pm. Cash and other items were taken from the woman.

Ranks of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) were; however, quick to respond and proceeded on a high-speed chase of the robbers all the way to North Sound.

It is alleged the robbers abandoned their getaway vehicle and proceeded to make a run for it but were caught by the lawmen.

According to reports, some of the items taken from the woman were recovered.
