US Offers $15 Million For Info On Leaders Of Cybercrime Group Lockbit
The US is offering a reward of up to $15 million for information leading to the capture of the leaders of cybercrime syndicate Lockbit.
This move comes amid a broader international crackdown against the group, which includes the recent arrest of two suspects in Ukraine. Lockbit is known for hijacking data and demanding ransom payments.
A collaborative law enforcement effort from the US, UK, and EU recently disrupted Lockbit, taking control of its website to undermine its operations and assist victims. Sanctions and charges have been issued against two key Lockbit figures.
Moreover, Ukrainian authorities have confiscated numerous cryptocurrency accounts and servers across multiple countries, significantly impeding the group's criminal infrastructure.
