US Officials Resign Over Biden's Gaza Policy

President Joe Biden's support for Israel during its nearly nine-month war in Gaza has led to the resignation of at least nine U.S. administration officials. These officials accuse Biden of ignoring Israeli atrocities, despite administration efforts to address civilian casualties and enhance humanitarian aid. Resignations include Maryam Hassanein, Stacy Gilbert, and Alexander Smith, who have cited 'genocide-enabling' policies and censorship as their reasons.
President Joe Biden's support for Israel during its nearly nine-month war in Gaza has led to the resignation of at least nine U.S. administration officials.

Critics accuse Biden of ignoring Israeli atrocities in the Palestinian enclave, although the administration points to its efforts to address civilian casualties and enhance humanitarian aid.

Israel's offensive began after a Hamas attack on October 7, killing around 1,200 people and taking 250 hostages.

Among the resignations: Maryam Hassanein from the Department of Interior, Stacy Gilbert from the State Department, and Alexander Smith from USAID.

These officials and others have cited 'genocide-enabling' policies and censorship as reasons for their departures.
