Jurors found US Senator Robert Menendez guilty on all corruption counts, including extortion, obstruction of justice, and taking bribes in exchange for favors for businessmen linked to Egypt and Qatar.
Menendez, a 70-year-old Democrat from New Jersey and former chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, faces a maximum sentence of 222 years in prison.
Evidence found at his home included nearly $500,000 in cash, gold bars worth around $150,000, and a luxury car.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called for Menendez's resignation following the verdict.
Menendez was convicted alongside businessmen Wael Hana and Fred Daibes, while a third businessman, Jose Uribe, pleaded guilty earlier this year and cooperated with investigators.
