The island resort, known to attract sailors, adventurers, travellers and vacationers was closed to facilitate transformative redesign and construction work.
VI Premier Andrew A. Fahie (R1) commenting on the re-opening said it is a step towards the full return of tourism in the COVID-19 era.
“To God alone be all the glory! Tourism is on the move in the BVI. What a transformation! More Tourism and Commerce to the North Sound! Congratulations to all, Tourism is once again on the move since COVID-19” he said.
The resort in a social media statement said, “It's been a labor of love to help bring the new Saba Rock to life. After years of perfecting every detail of the island's new design concept to the culinary experiences and selecting the best resort partners in the region, we have the sincere pleasure of saying that Saba Rock is open!”
The re-opening event was attended by other VI legislators including District Representative, Hon Vincent O. Wheatley (R9) and Minister for Trade and Economic Development Hon Shareen D. Flax-Charles (AL).
In keeping with the COVID-19 guidelines, the resort indicated that to visit, reservations are highly encouraged and limited, to help them adhere to the best safety protocols.
