VI airports to temporarily close for passage of TS Fiona – BVIAA

The BVI Airports Authority has issued a notice to the traveling public that the Territory’s airports will be closed from today, September 16, 2022, due to the passage of Tropical Storm Fiona.
The airports to be affected will include the Auguste George International Airport on Anegada, Taddy Bay International Airport on Virgin Gorda, and the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport on Beef Island.

Both the Auguste George and Taddy Bay Airports will close at sunset, and the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport will close at 7:00 pm local time.

“We are therefore asking all employees and stakeholders to ensure their offices, property, equipment, etc. are secured by the close of business today,” the BVIAA added.

The Authority said once the ‘All Clear’ has been given, an assessment will be undertaken on all the facilities of each airport to make sure they are operationally safe, and a information will be issued to announce their openings.
