The British Overseas territory of the Virgins Islands (VI) today, May 6, 2023, marked the coronation of King Charles Philip Arthur George aka ‘King Charles III’ and his wife Queen Consort Camilla with a 21-Gun salute.
The short event was held today, May 6, 2023, at Government House in an event hosted by His Excellency the Ag Governor, Mr. David Archer Jr after a viewing party coronation ceremony.
In a short speech recalling the events of the Coronation and the process, acting Governor Mr Archer Jr said he was pleased to have hosted the event to mark such an historic event.
The acting Governor detailed that the VI’s Premier Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley and Governor John J. Ranking CMG currently in London, are heavily involved in the formal proceedings of the events surrounding the coronation of the King.
Today, the Archbishop of Canterbury placed the crown on Charles' head at Westminster Abbey with immediate shorts of God Save the King.
In a short speech recalling the events of

“For many of us, this is a once-in-a-generation milestone, which we are marking together,” he said while sharing a message from the King on his coronation, where he detailed that King Charles was deeply touched by the event and similar happening worldwide.
The deputy Governor said Monday, will comment with ‘The Big Help-Out’ an event championed King Charles aimed and helping persons in the community.
Acting Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon Vincent O. Wheatley (R9) who also attended the event, said he was very pleased to have seen persons in the VI come together and to pay tribute to the King on his coronation.
