VI overpowered by SVG in 2nd World Cup qualifying match

The [British] Virgin Islands’ senior football team suffered their second defeat in Group C of the CONCACAF Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup, Qatar 2022 when they went down 0-3 to St Vincent and the Grenadines at the Ergilio Hato Stadium in Curacao on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.

The VI side conceded after 10 minutes of play when Oalex Anderson found the back of the nets.

Ten minutes later the Vincentians were celebrating again thanks to a goal from Z. Sam.

The Virgin Islands side fought back in the second half and kept their opponents from troubling the scoresheets; however, Azinho Solomon netted SVG’s third goal in the 86th minute.

It was a handsome win for St Vincent and the Grenadines who lost 0-5 to Curacao on March 25, 2021.

The VI were defeated 0-3 by Guatemala on March 27, 2021.

The next match slated for the Virgin Islands is a bottom of the table clash against Cuba on June 2, 2021.
