VI pro basketballer Norville S. Carey joins Iranian League

Having plied his trade in the Netherlands and France, Virgin Islands' professional basketball player Norville S. Carey aka ‘Banana’ will be heading to the Middle East to continue his sporting career.
Carey, 27, has signed with Iranian club Mes Kerman for the 2020-2021 season.

The 6ft 7in Forward confirmed the signing on his Facebook page on October 20, 2020.

Carey played three seasons of collegiate basketball for Southern Mississippi and one season for Rider University before joining New Heroes Den Bosch of the Dutch Basketball League in July 2017.

The Virgin Islander averaged 12.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game, playing 28 games with Den Bosch, during the 2017-2018 Netherlands - Eredivisie regular-season.

Carey then began playing in the French League where he averaged 9.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game, playing 11 games with Poitiers, during the 2018-2019 France - Pro B regular-season.
