VI's active COVID-19 cases increase to 66

Active COVID-19 cases in the Virgin Islands (VI) have increased to 66 as of September 3, 2021, according to the latest epidemiology report from the Government of the Virgin Islands (VI).

The new statistics come after the territory recorded 50 active confirmed cases as of August 31, 2021, which means that 16 new cases have been confirmed in the last three days.

According to the information released, Tortola has the majority of cases with 51, followed by Virgin Gorda with 11 and 4 on Jost van Dyke.

To date, 78,999 samples from 74,130 persons have been tested for the virus at the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

There are currently 7 persons hospitalized with the virus and all of these persons are unvaccinated.
