VI's active COVID-19 infections jump to 14

The Virgin Islands has recorded more COVID-19 cases over the past days, taking the total number of active cases in the territory to 14 as of December 22, 2020.
This was revealed via a social media update posted today, December 23, 2020, from the Government Information Service (GIS) which also noted that total recoveries of the virus have increased to 78 from 74 recorded last week on December 18, 2020.

According to the update, while one case of the virus is currently on a vessel, 5 of the recorded cases are from Virgin Gorda and 8 on Tortola.

To date, there has been 11,908 samples and 11,894 persons tested at the Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.

It remains unclear if instances of community spread have been recorded, however, all current cases remain asymptomatic and visitors are in isolation with their close contacts.
