VI unbeaten in 4 games @ CFU U14 series in Dominican Republic

The [British] Virgin Islands remained at the top of Tier II Group 3 on match day 5 of the 2022 CFU Boys’ U-14 Challenge Series when they came up against St Maarten and defeated them 2-0 at Club Athletico Pantoja in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic on Wednesday, August 16, 2022.

The VI boys, coming off a 1-1 draw with Anguilla on Monday, August 15, 2022, found their first goal in the 39th minute when Tiondre Frett’s long-range free kick, which seemed to be headed over the bar, dipped at the last second to beat St Maarten keeper Jayden Campbell.

The Virgin Islands would go 2-0 up early in the second half when Michael A. Findlay found the back of the nets in the 47th minute.

The VI top their group with eight points after their maximum group-stage matches and are certain of a semi-final place, since only Anguilla can overtake them on the points table.

Meanwhile, Othneil Gillings (27th minute) was the goal scorer for the VI in their drawn game against Anguilla on Monday.
